What's New In Flywheel

Hey Flywheelers!

We received some great feedback from you all on the audience building experience, and are excited to announce these improvements and features now available in the Flywheel Audience Builder!

NEW Audience Templates

Do you have a common starting point for many of your audiences built in Flywheel? Perhaps you have a standard set of suppressions and exclusion criteria to apply to each audience. Or perhaps you simply want to streamline the process of audience building for your marketing team by pre-populating certain criteria. If any of this rings true with you, check out how to build and use an audience template below.

Click "New Audience" and begin building an audience normally such as the one below

Once satisfied with your audience template, click on the save audience dropdown and select save as template.

Now any user in your team on their next audience build can use your template as a starting point by clicking "New Audience" -> "Build with Recipe" and selecting the template

Selecting this template will pre-populate the audience builder with any selection or suppression criteria applied in the template

NEW LinkedIn Ads Destination

Flywheel now supports audience activation to LinkedIn for both Company and Contact targeting!

Navigate to your destinations page and select "Add LinkedIn Adds", this will direct you to LinkedIn for sign in and authorization

Select export on any audience, choose to activate to Contacts or Companies on LinkedIn, and then select at least one of the listed fields for matching in LinkedIn.

After your activation, you are ready to export your first audience to LinkedIn!

NEW Enhanced Visibility of Destinations and Dataset Group per Audience

We've added more places where you can check which dataset group your audience is using, as well as all of the destinations your audience is exporting to.

As you build your audience you can now reference what Dataset Group is being used at a glance.

In your Audience Hub, you can now see destinations for every audience at a glance to make it easier to know which destinations every audience is syncing to faster than ever before.

BUGS As always, we've also made some improvements and bug fixes:

  • FIX Text wrapping on long audience names
  • FIX Allow for admins to unarchive an audience

What's New In Flywheel?

Hey Flywheelers!

We wanted to share with you an exciting audience evaluation feature, check it out below!

NEWAudience Evaluation Sums & Aggregates

In addition to activating audience evaluations of counts in Flywheel (customer count, email opens, conversions, etc.) you can now automate the activation of summed metrics (purchase value, total revenue, etc.)

Take for example a transactions table where all online purchases are tracked, and you want to visualize in Flywheel how your audiences have generated lift on customer total spend. Simply head to your datasets page and apply the "Transaction Revenue" label to your dataset, configure an end date for your evaluation period, and you're all set. Check out how this done below!

Click Edit on your dataset and assign the following labels

Click on one of your exporting audiences and configure an end-date for the evaluation

Your performance graph will populate and visualize the results over the control group

BUGS As always, we've also made some improvements and bug fixes:

  • FIX Match field types when selecting dataset join keys
  • FIX Narrow Export Modal

What's New In Flywheel?

Hey Flywheelers!

We have some exciting new features to announce that give you more control when creating and exporting audiences, check them out!

NEW Audience Insights Eco Mode

When creating audiences in Flywheel, we want to make sure you get rapid feedback on your audience size with each change in the audience builder. This means executing SQL queries against your warehouse any time you change your selection criteria. But what if you want to control when these queries are re-executed? Maybe you want to...

  • Decrease your data cloud query costs
  • Reduce latency in your data cloud when defining complex audiences

Now you can with Audience Insights Eco Mode! Check out how to enable eco mode on your audience builder below!

Click on your "Settings" in the audience builder and toggle the "Auto Report Refresh" switch off.  On the right-hand side of your screen under "Insights" you'll now see an indication of when your audience report was last refreshed.

As you apply selection criteria in the audience builder you'll notice the indicator will now show that your audience has changed, and must be refreshed to show the updated count.

Simply click the refresh icon, and your audience report will be updated accordingly

NEW Enhanced Audience Export Scheduling

Flywheel already solves the problem of ongoing/frequent audience exports to your marketing tools, but we heard your feedback and added a few new options.

  • Weekly and Monthly Export Frequencies - Do you have a monthly newsletter or weekly email that doesn't need to be updated daily? We've got you covered here now.
  • Audience Export End Date - Want to ensure your audiences stop updating after a specific date, maybe a seasonal campaign? Go ahead and set your end date on an audience export ahead. No more forgetting to disable an export in Flywheel

BUGS As always, we've also made some improvements and bug fixes:

  • FIX Do not require email mapping on dataset creation
  • FIX Attentive destination bug fixes and upgrades

NEW Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Tags

Do you want to restrict which fields your team can use for audience building? Fields like phone number and email are most often not needed for audience segmentation, but are needed in your connected datasets for matching to destinations like Facebook or Braze. Now in Flywheel, on your datasets page you can now tag any field as a PII field. Check it out below, simply create or edit an existing dataset and apply a PII tag to prevent that field from being used in your audience builder.

Also on your datasets page, we've added automatic detection for unsupported field that cannot be used in audience builder. When editing or creating a new dataset, you'll be warned of all unsupported field types for your specific warehouse. These tables can still be connected, but won't be available in your audience builder

NEW Audience Naming Restrictions

To prevent issues in your downstream destinations and filesystems, we've implemented standard alphanumeric character limitations on your audience names. Non supported character type entry will result in the warning below
